There are a lot of manufacturers in China who declare that they produce Henkel Loctite equivalent products. However, many of them are not able to do it. The truth is some of them just buy loctite equivalent product in bulk from real manufacturer(s) and repack into small containers with their own brand labels, and some are just not telling you the truth and what they produce are unsuccessfuly copycats.
So, how to find real Loctite equivalent manufacturer from China? Several tips for your reference as below.
Raw materials
Generally speaking, to produce loctite equivalents you need use raw materials same as Henkel Loctite. So you could ask the supplier where they buy the raw materials and what are the brand names of the raw materials provider. If they don’t know or couldn’t answer in short time, they would be a fake one.
Technical Details
If the supplier is manufacturer, they should be famiiar with technical details of all model numbers, at least those popular ones. So you could try to test their knowledge on the products. For example, you could try to mistakely say some features of certain model number(s) and see if the provider could point out the mistake quickly.
Sample
You could ask for sample from the supplier and perform tests to verify whether their quality level fits with Loctite or not. Of course, there is possibility that they would get sample from real manufacturer and send to you. However, another problem occurs in such situation, please refer to next tip – Price.
Price
We assume products from different suppliers are all loctite equivalents, generally speaking, price from real manufacturer would be moderate, neither too cheap nor abnormally high. So, to avoid the situation that the supplier buys sample from a real manufacturer and sends to you is to ask for quotation firstly. If the price is obviously cheaper than other suppliers, they would not be real manufacturer, instead they would have been using lower quality grade raw materials or they simply haven’t mastered the recipe well; If the price is abnormally high, most probably they buy it from other real manufacturer(s) and just do repacking, or they are new in this field and don’t know about market.
Well-known Customer(s)
You could also ask the supplier whether they have any well-known customer. If they have, the reliability increases.
